Sustainability
We hereby confirm on a legally binding basis that, as of May 1st, 2025, all our products comply with the following sustainability criteria:
Core Product Criteria
-
FSC-Certified Woods
All solid woods we use are FSC-certified and originate from responsibly managed forests.
-
VOC-Free Finishes
We exclusively apply solvent-free matte lacquers that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOC-free).
-
Low Formaldehyde Emissions
All our products comply with the E1 formaldehyde emission standard (≤ 0.10 ppm)
-
Recycled Polyester Fleece
The polyester fleece used in our products contains 60% recycled content – the highest currently available share.
-
Metal Component Safety
We avoid the use of chrome and use whenever possible powder coating instead of wet paint.
-
Plastic Minimization & Clean Separation
If we use plastics (e.g. injection-molded or 3D-printed components), they are designed for clean disassembly and recycling. Wherever possible, we avoid plastics altogether.
-
Design for Disassembly
Our products are not glued but can be fully dismantled to be sorted by material type. The only exception is the Studioboard range; however, the Studioboard Pro is made from engineered wood and can be thermally recycled without issue.
Packaging & Logistics
-
Minimal and Eco-Friendly Packaging
We use recycled cardboard for packaging and, wherever feasible, opt for multipacks to minimize material usage. Our two-person delivery model significantly reduces packaging needs compared to standard parcel shipping. Our goal is minimal packaging – and when needed, the most sustainable option possible.
-
Local Sourcing
Over 99% of our product volume comes from suppliers based in Europe (EU and EFTA).
-
Certified Environmental Management
All our raw material suppliers operate in accordance with ISO 14001
environmental management standards.
Circular Thinking & Supplier Responsibility
-
Long-Term Use & Spare Parts
Our products are built for long-term use and show no signs of planned obsolescence.
-
Repairability
Components are designed to be replaceable and repairable wherever technically possible.
-
Circular Design Principles
We follow circular design principles, focusing on durability, easy repair, and clean material separation for maximum recyclability.
-
Responsible Supply Chains
We maintain long-term partnerships with European, often owner-managed suppliers who ensure both environmental and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.
